Carly is the Science Outreach Lead at Rainforest Connection, a non-profit focused on using sound and artificial intelligence (AI) for biodiversity monitoring and threat detection in ecosystems worldwide. For her PhD, she used acoustic monitoring to detect ruffed lemurs across fragmented forests in southeastern Madagascar. Carly is originally from eastern Long Island (NY) and now lives in New York City. In her spare time, she loves to escape the city to hike, swim, and enjoy the amazing natural world we’re surrounded by!
