Nate Olson, PhD who holds a degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Maryland, has worked as a research biologist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology for 10 years. He is currently part of the NIST Genome In A Bottle team working on standards for whole human genome sequencing. His talk describes advances in DNA sequencing, how computer science is used to assist this, and more.
