West Contra Costa STEM Camps

Our student-driven research during WCCUSD STEM camp encourages students to fully follow the process of science. We begin by participating in activities to introduce the theme for the day to the student. Then, the students work with the staff to develop a research plan and implement it. Headwaters motivates students to love science, exploration, and strengthening their connection to the ecosystems around them. In addition to delivering increased academic confidence, better social skills, and building science and language skills, all of our programs give students experience using all of the fundamental science skills laid out in the NGSS Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) as well as several NGSS Cross Cutting Concepts.

2026 STEM Camp Details

The West Contra Costa STEM Camps will be both educational and inspirational! Whether your kid is a budding scientist or simply curious about the world around you, this event is a great opportunity to explore the importance of water and its forms by participating in several hands-on activities. We will be looking at rain and how it causes erosion, fog and how leaves can direct the water flow, and designing and implementing a research project based on those factors.
